Partnering To Provide Health Screenings In Rural Communities

Francis Marion University is establishing a Rural Assistance Initiative to provide a variety of health awareness services in rural communities. The ARCH Program (Advancing Rural Community Health) will provide health screenings, educational programs, and healthy lifestyle demonstrations. The program, which will be supervised by a physician specializing in rural community health issues, will provide referrals for citizens in need of healthcare.

Darryl Bridges, Vice President for Student Affairs with Francis Marion University said, "By establishing partnerships with programs such as CommuniCare, the ARCH Project can have an even greater impact on rural community health. By seeking out opportunities to work with other programs, we can maximize resources and serve even more constituents."
