Hispanic Outreach Initiative

This pilot project focuses on increasing basic literacy in non-English speaking Hispanic parents of children receiving dental care through our Smiles for a Lifetime Pediatric Dental Center at Trident Technical College in North Charleston. The program began in September and classes have been full each week. Jon Ory, ESL Coordinator and Instructor, said, “The program is off to a great start. There is a multi-level group of students. Everyone in the clinic is friendly, knowledgeable, and busy. I feel very confident the program will be a success.”
