With 86 cents of every donated dollar going towards Communicare programs, your contribution makes a significant difference in the lives of South Carolina's 605,000 (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) working uninsured citizens.

Public-private partnerships are critical to Communicare's success. We are supported by corporations, foundations, hospitals, state and local agencies, community groups, and individual donors. Our donor-partners know that gifts to Communicare provide more care to more people.

Communicare's goal is to help hard-working people in South Carolina gain the same level of health care many of us take for granted. In 2005, physicians and health care providers volunteered time, and pharmaceutical companies donated medications to serve more than 15,453 working uninsured South Carolinians. As we continue to expand our mission of serving the growing health care needs of our state's working uninsured population, our William E. Murray Pharmacy has grown substantially, and last year dispensed 230,195 prescriptions with an average wholesale value of near $27.7 million.

Communicare also operates Smiles for a Lifetime school-based and volunteer pediatric dental centers, to meet the needs of children in areas where access to oral health care is limited and needed most.
