A Unique Feature of Communicare
In 2005 Communicare's William E. Murray Pharmacy served more than 15,400 South Carolinians. The wholesale value of medications dispensed was approximately $27.7 million.
Communicare's central-fill pharmacy receives donations of brand-name medicines directly from pharmaceutical companies and dispenses prescriptions by mail at no charge to eligible patients. The Medications list covers twenty different therapeutic drug classes and includes over 381 legend non-controlled oral, topical, inhalation, and injectable drugs.
Communicare's patients must meet eligibility criteria for one of the two categories of pharmacy clients, have a prescription written by a licensed prescriber, and mail or fax the prescription to Communicare's central-fill pharmacy. Communicare's pharmacy serves the following categories of patients:
